Our mission is to provide University of Iowa students, postdocs, faculty, and staff with access to quality new or used professional clothing at no cost.
This institution is an equal opportunity provider. Each semester, students, postdocs, faculty, and staff can receive up to ten free items for interviews, jobs, class presentations, and other professional needs. These ten items are theirs to keep forever, free of charge!
Location
The Clothing Closet at Iowa is located in room G200 of the Iowa Memorial Union. This space is on the Ground Floor of the IMU and is shared with the Food Pantry.
Monetary Donations
To give a monetary donation to the Clothing Closet through the University of Iowa Center for Advancement, please select "Search for Additional Options or Give to Multiple Areas" and then "Other." Specify it should be given to the Clothing Closet at Iowa.
The Clothing Closet at Iowa also accepts monetary donations in the form of cash or check (make payable to "Clothing Closet at Iowa"). Donations can be accepted at the office of the Dean of Students in 135 IMU.
Clothing Donations
We are now accepting all types of professional, business wear. Please ensure all donated items do not have stains, rips, etc. You can drop off donations directly to the Clothing Closet anytime during open hours. However, if you don't have any clothes of your own to donate, you can purchase items for us through our Amazon Wish List. See below to learn which items we need most!
